About Walking the I Ching Ba gua is one of the internal styles of the Chinese martial arts, a "circular" walking technique that helps train the mind and body to recognize and accept change. Characterized by its spinning movements and extremely evasive footwork, ba gua is often used as a means to protect others, much like a good mother holding.

I wrote Walking the Way hoping to share some of the Tao Te Ching's wisdom and show how, especially when combined with a meditation practice, offers us practical guidance for our day-to-day lives.

Each chapter takes a verse from the Tao Te Ching, provides a brief commentary on some aspect of the verse, and adds a personal anecdote by way of illustration. Walking the Way affirms that, like yin and yang, the flowing spontaneity of Tao and the precise simplicity of Zen find perfect balance with one another.

Robert Meikyo Rosenbaum brings the two traditions together in a unique presentation that elicits Zen insights from his fresh interpretation of verses from the Taoist classic, the Tao Te : Wisdom Publications MA.
